Job Title: Indirect Purchasing Specialist - Construction/Facilities & Capital Equipment

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Indirect Purchasing Specialist to join our team, specializing in the procurement of construction/facilities materials and capital equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing and negotiating contracts for steel, foundations, general contractors, mechanical equipment, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), as well as capital equipment such as robots, conveyance systems, manipulators, and related machinery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Procure construction/facilities materials including but not limited to steel, foundations, general contractors, mechanical equipment, MEP, and HVAC.
  • Source and negotiate contracts for capital equipment such as robots, conveyance systems, manipulators, and other machinery required for operational purposes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and develop sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify potential vendors and assess their capabilities.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and finance to support project timelines and budget requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practices in procurement.
  • Expectation for a minimum 6-month rotation commitment.

Location:

  • Preferred location: Columbia, South Carolina.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in indirect purchasing, specifically in construction/facilities and capital equipment procurement.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.
  • Knowledge of construction/facilities materials and capital equipment market trends, suppliers, and industry standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software or ERP systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
